Quercus Palustris, by the dozen.

If you live between Connecticut and Kansas, or Georgia and Oklahoma, or in South Ontario you would have seen Pin Oak Trees (Quercus Palustris).
In Australia they line driveways, and mushrooms grow under them in plenty. Barbequed mushrooms - delicious. But where, exactly are these?

This picture makes me feel like taking a walk among those trees and enjoy the fresh air (it does evoke a place with fresh air). Lovely photo, beautiful scenary.

Thanks for your support M.Benaut! I thought I´d rather put pictures of Rio and Brasil in general and from other places and countries I visit as well. I love photography and travelling, so I didn´t want to restrict the blog to one area only.

Monica, I hope some day you can do just that!

However, this caption was a question, a test.

You obviously travel very great distances to take your shots and you are well rewarded for the trouble. They are outstanding. I observe that you have been to the US, (to eat Kookaburras !!!). Can you say what other countries you have visited?

I have been to some foreign countries such as the US, Argentina, some in Europe like Italy, Belgium, UK and of course France. Some of then for just a quick visit and others I stayed a bit longer.
However, the restaurant Outback that I usually go is not in the US, it´s right here in Rio! The chain has 3 restaurants in the city and some more in other brazilian cities. Actually, we have most of the american fast food restaurants here in Brasil (Pizza Hut; KFC; Friday´s, Starbucks etc)

I think Outback is an American chain - American idea of what is Australian! It is certainly not Australian, anyway!

Sally,
I told my French teacher to hold her nose with her fingers when she tried to speak with an Aussie accent.
It worked quite well.
Doesn't work with Yanks, try saying 'sidewaaaaark" that way, it doesn't work !!
